From the USAPL forum
On Sat at the Northeast Regionals In Pennsylvannia Adam Mamola of Virginia benched 595 in the 181lb class to break the American Open Record.
Great lift Adam!

WOW!!! Truly impressive. What a long way Adam has come since he began to train with Bill Gillespie, and yet when you meet and speak to him he is a very humble and self effacing man. A real example of the Virginia gentleman.

Thanks Ron for the comment. It means a lot to me when my fellow lifters from Virginia say such kind things about me as a person, you guys and gals have seen me make a slow climb thru the ranks over the past 16 yrs that I have been lifting. I still remember doing the meets at Stadardsville barbell and at the elementary school in Green County when I was in my teenage years. I feel fortunate that I had those meets to go to. I knew I would get stronger when I started to train with Bill, But to put over 120# on my bench in a little over 2yrs is amazing. I have made all these gains staying in the same weight class also which also blows my mind. I feel so fortunate to be able to lift and to just be around such a great person like Bill. Thanks again and God Bless.

Let me second Ron's comments. I am truly amazed by Adam's accomplishments. Looking forward to seeing you break the 600 barrier.
