Just an f.y.i. to members, The new usapl website record listings are not up to date at this time. This is frustrating for 2 reasons. 1. members don't know what the current records are. 2. lifters who may have the actual current records are not listed on the record board.

Just to clarify, I am referring to the new website & the fact that I set records at the VA State meet in Sept 2010 & they still are not posted in the record section. I may not be the only one who doesn't have their current records posted.

I agree with carl. I participated in the Richmond Open this year and my raw bench-only record is not posted. Would be cool to see it posted.

i've inquired several times through e-mail and direct phone conversation and in person over the past several months about the issue with the record board. And, so far, I feel like I'm just getting the run-around. Trish claims the results were turned in with no records indicated. Jon, the meet director, says the were turne in with the new records indicated. All I can say is that it's been 9 months since the meet and the records haven't been updated yet.

The meet results is what is needed to show the records were set. The State Chair is the person who updates the records. I sent the results in the Monday after the meet to the state chair, USAPL National Office. PL USA and Powerlifting Watch.
I would call again to get this resolved. Best wishes on your lifting at the ADAU Nationals.

I spoke to John S. and e-mailed Gary E. about this situation this week. I have volunteered to research the 2010 State meet results and determine who set records. I started this project last night and finished through the mens 198 class. I should finish by this weekend. I have to train tonight.
The reason it is taking me a few days is because the records are in pounds and the meet results are in kilos. I have to convert the records of each applicable class into kilos then compare with the meet lifts. Then I have to convert the applicable lifts back to pounds for the records. Then I have to double check.
Be patient a few more days and I will have them for the Chair to post to the record site.

I attached a file with the results of my efforts and the sources of my information. The state chair has chosen to change the masters records to match the format of the world records, by combining the five year divisions into 10 year divisions. I have no idea if this is a prerogative of the position but it seems to be a faite accomplit, I am okay with it since now we have all the raw records as well and I am not sure anyone had any more state records than I did under the old five year set up. I found over 40 instances of a new records set by more than a dozen lifters. Hopefully I attached the document properly. Feel free to check it for accuracy and notify the state chair with any corrections. I have emailed an electronic copy directly to the state chair. Attachments:

Thank you for your time and effort in working on the record lists. Hopefully it will be updated by the state chair in the near future. keeping current records seems to be pretty far down the priority list. Maybe you could bring the update listings to the meets that you go to and post them near the flight info, so the lifters know what the current records actually are.

Carl,
I checked back with Gary Emrich yesterday, and he said he would have the changes made to the official list on the web site no later than this weekend. This is good because I know a number of them may change at Raw Nationals is Scranton this week end.
Keeping the records updated in a timely manner has always been a pet peeve of mine. Because I am old and fat, most the lifters my age are dead and don't come to the meets. Therefore I have to lift against the records. Fortunately mine are mostly American records and I can keep track of them on the national site. John did a very good job of keeping the records and was always open to corrections. We will have to see how the new State chair performs now that they are the Prime USAPL meet promoters.
See you in Scranton? I will be lifting with the fat guys on Sunday. "ronnybench"

Thanks Ron, I won't make it to Scranton. I'll either be lifting at the VA State meet in Oct. or the 100% meet in Dec in VA or possibly both. God luck at the Nationals, I hear there's going to be over 300 lifters.

well, it's been over a year now and the bench records are still not updated. So, i'll have to go to another meet and reset the record before i move to the next age group. In the meantime, the 100% RAW/ADAU is having meets in VA.
