What a day for Ron and Jake(my son) yesterday. Jake went 9 for 9 in his first powerlifting contest. He hit a 315lb squat, 225lb bench, 360lb deadlift, and a 900 total. He took home a first place award for the day. He had so much fun that he is going to stick with it. So, that is a great thing. After watching all the others with the equipment, Jake is going to stay as a raw lifter. He has no interest in the equipment. I can't tell you how happy and proud of my son I am.
Ron just got off the plane from the Bench Nationals and here he is doing a full powerlifting meet. This guy will never rest. He also had a great day and left it all on the platform. I will let him tell the details of his lifting. One of the topics brought up during rules meeting was having a good lifting partner. All I could do was look at Ron and say "what the f$$k was that" and we both busted out laughing. Both of them had a great day.

John,
As always, a great meet. Made some new friends, learned a few tips and had a lot of fun.
Appreciate all your work, as well as that of the spotters, loaders and officials.
Thanks again, Joe

Jake looked good on the platform. I know that Momma and Poppa Pope were very proud, and so they should be. I will post my numbers and thoughts in my taining journal.

Wow what a day I can't believe we got lifting done by 6 pm after the day we had. THANK YOU to all the lifters, judges, spotters loaders and all people that brought equipment for the meet. Great and safe lifting by all. I was real excited at all the young lifters from teen, junior and college. Thank the Lord for a good safe day.
