I've been hovering around the powerlifting boards reading up on rules and the goings on. It's been nearly 5 years since I've competed. I have some questions regarding different organizations. This board doesn't have much traffic but seems like a neutral place to ask.
Does USAPL have a sub-masters anymore? I only see a masters division listed in upcoming contests. I remember when it was 33-39 then moved up to 35 as I was about old enough. Now I'm a year shy of masters and don't see a sub-master again.
Does USAPL allow wrist wraps in raw? I'm thinking yes
Does 100% raw allow wraps? I'm thinking no
What percent of lifters are tested in 100 percent raw? I know USAPL is at least 10%

Hi Gary, To the best of my knowledge here are the answers to your questions.
The USAPL does not list a sub masters division nationally or keep records for one. But take note, you are considered to be the age all year that you turn in a year. For instance if you turn 40 on Jan 1st or Dec 31st you are considered 40 all that year.
USAPL Raw allows a belt, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves (not knee wraps). !00% Raw allows only a belt.
I do not know the percentage of testing in 100% Raw.
I hope this helps.

Gary, Ron,
I think the testing for 100% Raw is also at 10%. I guess John Shifflett would be the man to answer that question.

100% Raw does at least 10% of all lifters as well as USAPL.
USAPL does not have sub masters, 100% Raw does
USAPL allows wrist wraps in Raw. 100% Raw does not.

Thanks for the answers guys! I was going to do the 100% raw Ironman Nationals, but had a little mishap. I've been doing alot of rack work and close grips. I decided on this contest and was trying to work on my pause and bringing my grip out.
Anyway, stupidness took over, I wasn't satisfied with my progress....... and was maxing every week. I tried a touch and go after missing a pause...........It sounded like a rag tearing and I actually felt the muscle pulling apart.
I called for my wife to get an ice pack ready, stabilized the arm and laid down. We iced it and cut my shirt off. This was so scary. It doesn't seem to be as bad as you would think. There are two light yellow bruises that just showed up after 5 days. I did pushdowns yesterday and hope to go 50% on the bench by about Wednesday, and hope that in about 6 weeks it will be to full strength.
The pec is still very sore but it seems to be functioning fine.
Best case senerio is that I can bench in the April contest, and possibly be 100% for the strict curl in March.

First, welcome to the forum. I love your out look and attitude. Most guys would take a few months break and not even think about a meet. I don't blame them...But I love when I read things like this. Hard Core! Gets me motivated. IM glad you are some what ok. See ya at the meets.

I'm going to post my recovery in the workout log section. Although bruising is minimal it is very sore. To be in competition shape in 6 weeks may be too optomistic. I picked up an empty bar today just to see if i could start with light lockouts, the answer is no. What I'll probably try is alot of overhead work for a few weeks and go from there. I'll see if declines hurt, my guess is probably so.
About 3 years ago the same sound happened in my tricep during extensions. The pain was terrible just like this but I couldn't believe how fast I was back to normal.
Actually, I'm not even sad. I know it could have been much worse. My dissatifaction with my lifts motivates me sometimes and sometimes it goes too far. It gave me a reality check this time.
I'll continue this in the workout log section.

Does 100% raw consider you master on Jan 1 or your birthday the year you turn 40?

No you would be in the 35-39 until your birthday then move to the 40-44 that day,
