hey folks,
i'm new to these boards but have been competing in powerlifting for many years. i've been a member of pretty much every gym in the area and have been kicked out of most for powerlifting. i'm sure many of you can relate. i know train at a private facility in chantilly. it's not a public gym. it's invite only. we are looking for serious lifters...not your typical weekend commercial gym warriors. we have pretty much everything a serious lifter needs. we have really nice power rack, GHR, reverse hyper, deadlift platform, bands, chains, boards, speciality bars- swiss, texas, cambered, buffalo, ect. we also have olympic bars and plates as well as an wide array of conditioning equipment such as different size tires, sleds, weighted vests, etc.
i've searched for a place like this my entire lifting career and have now found it. the only thing i need now is a few more folks looking to get stronger.
let me know if you want to be one of those people.

Scott,
A couple of important questions.
What federations do you compete in now?
Do you lift drug tested?
Is "DINO" previousley of "Team Ruthless" in any way associated with your enterprise?
And if you would, Scott Who?
Thanks, Ron "ronnybench" Beuch (contact me with the answers at ronnybench@aol.com if you do not wish to publish the info here.)

i compete mainly in the SPF. but am always looking to compete in other federations. as for drug testing, i compete in the open division whenever i compete. i compete to better my last performance. i'll compete against anyone.
I actually don't know the person you are talking about. i don't really know any local powerlifters other than Tim Henriques and the guys i train with. my gym doesn't have any association with any organization. I train with a group of 6 competitve powerlifters. we also have a group of crossfitters and some MMA fighters.
my full name is Christopher Scott Drummond. I've been competing for about 5 years after being a competive bodybuilder. I compete raw in the 259 class. i've competed mostly bench only with a best competition bench of 515lbs. i have competed in a couple full meets and a few push/pulls though. my best squat in competition thus far is 650lbs. my best deadlift is 705lbs sumo and recently switched to conventional and hit 660 in a push/pull meet.
thanks for your response.

Thanks for the detailed open response Scott, I think that serious lifters in this region like to know who they are dealing with, to prevent possibly repeats of past history. As you can tell from the content on the site it is dedicated to drug free lifting. I have lifted in the USAPL, the 100% RAW and the APA. In the APA I hold tested and non tested world records but have always lifted in the tested divisions. Once again Thanks for your openness and welcome to the site,

i see that you are from manassas. i live in bristow. i used to train at the Gold's in manassas until it was moved to Liberia. now it's a fitness center. where do you train?? i've tried many gyms in the area and have been told that powerlifting wasn't welcome in all of them.

Ron,
Dino is at the XFIT24 gym in Ashburn. He has hooked up with Magic. Dino is doing some teaching and Ashley is teaching MMA. I'm lifting at that gym now but I have no dealings with Dino...The gym does welcome powerlifters with open arms.
Stay Strong Jim

You might say that. Just another place I was thrown out of for being me. I believe in keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. Thanks for the heads up Jim.
Scott, Have been lifting at Fitness 19 ever since World gym moved to Gainsville and ultimately closed. We worked a compromise with the original Fitness 19 owner and manager that allows us to keep our bags with lifting equipment close and use chalk. We promised to try to keep the loud grunting as non threatening as possible. We wipe the plates down and mop the floor when we are done. It has worked for us for almost three years now. The regulars know the days and times we work out and try to make the equipment we need available. We are always willing to wait our turn though.
I may have reffed a meet or two that you lifted in. (John James raw meets). I am friends with Scott Kuzma, whom you should know as well from competition.

i can empathize with you. i've been kicked out of many gyms in the area for simply deadlifting. i find that crazy since i feel the deadlift is the best overall lift one can perform. unfortunately most people don't ever do them because they take some effort.
anyway... yep. i've done a few of John James' meets and i do know Scott Kuzma. He trained at the gold's in manassas as well.
If you ever get tired of the commercial gym scene you should really check my gym out. we have everything you and your guys could ever need. there's never anyone there to wait on and you don't ever have to worry about wiping down plates. chalk is used liberally. actually we have t-shirts that say "got chalk" on the front of them.
it's a key club so you get your own keyless entry pass and come and go as you please. i'll NEVER go back to commercial gyms again. just a bunch of like minded guys who like to lift heavy weight.

I am a masters powerlifter in Ashburn and I'm looking for a real gym with real lifters, guys who train rather than just work out. Please tell me more. Thx.

Since I first posted about our powerlifting gym in chantilly we've picked up about 12 competitive lfiters... we have both geared and raw lifters now. We still have room for a few more.
Recently we added a competition monolift and competition bench to our gym.

Hi - I'm new to powerlifting and trying to find folks I can train with properly. I'd like to compete in the 4-6 months, and the only personal trainer I've found thus far with powerlifting experience has really limited availability. I'd be very interested in learning more about this gym!
