sit ups 50x2
Raw (just a belt) with no lift off Barx10 1pause 275x5 1 pause 315x5 1 pause 340x5 1 pause 340x5 1 pause 340x4 I got the pause in on the last rep but it stopped at trans. point on the way back up 340x3 400x1 just a slight touch on the chest to keep from bouncing it. It went back up real slow but I was able to get it.
Some numbers on next Bench day 06-06--08

Today was spent visiting Doctors all day. Last Friday at 2 am, I was forced out of bed by pain. The pain started at the base of my right lat from the back sided. This wake up call came the last five days in a row. The pain was so bad yesterday morning that it rolled me up in a ball. I called and was able to get in to see my Doctor today. He had x-rays taken and they were normal. He wrote me a prescription for painkillers and said it was a pulled muscle. He instructed me to rest it for two weeks and take the painkiller for the relief.
Then I went to my chiropractor to get started on getting this fixed. He started with some heat on the area. Then we did some light stretching of the area. The instruction I got from him was to rest the next two days and try to get back on the schedule on Friday. Therefore, I will follow my instruction and rest until Friday. Already looking forward to benching after all this rest and get back on the program.
Since I am, having withdraws because I did not get to squat today. I was able to get in 30 minutes walking on the treadmill. I also made some eating changes this week and its making a difference.
Only a month away from raw nationals, so this is very bad timing.

Dont let it mess your head up Jim, you are 7 weeks out from nationals (50 days). Putting that microwave in probably messed you up. See you Sunday morning?

06-06-08 Bench-(bwt 323.6) Hmmm, shortly after I got out of bed this morning I was feeling some major pain. I kept moving around the house and sitting in different positions to get the pain to lighten up a little. Finally, after a hot shower the pain was manageable so I headed for the gym to try benching. I took it slow and was able to get my complete workout in today. Once I got start, the pain took a back seat and was no problem. It has now been about three hours since I finished and now it is more soreness than pain. I see my chiropractor today so we will see how things go. I guess the real test will be Sunday with squats and Deads

6-08-08 Squats-(bwt 325.3) Again, the pain in my right side and back started as soon as I got out of bed this morning. I really had apprehension about squat and deads today with the pain. However, I had to see if either of those lifts was going to increase the pain anymore. I made sure that I stretched well before getting under my first squat.
sit ups 100
Raw (just a belt & knee sleeves) I got the bar as low as I could on my shoulders. I hope that it wouldn't push me forward during the squat. 395x5 425x5 470x5 470x5 470x5 470x5 I also took the heavy single out today to be safe.
Add 5lbs on next squat day 06-17-08
Deads(just belt) 535x1 635x1 655x1 I was calling out the plates to load for the loaders and made a 20lb mistake. I wanted 635lbs 655x1 No since in going back down now so I went with it again. 675x0 Didn't get it off the the floor.
Next deadlift day 06-22-08

I am about a month away from openers so its time to drop the assistances work now. I also have adjusted the numbers to hit some heavier weights.

The bench has three safety hooks on it and I hit the middle one. The bar stopped and I was unable to finish it off.

6-22-08 Squats-(bwt 323.4) With just a few workouts left before the Raw Nationals. I went into the Gym today wanting to turning up the heat on all my lifts. I was able to hit Gym PR's in the squats. Also, I have not hit a 700lb deadlift during training in about 4 years. And hats off to my two lifting partners (Ron Beuch & My Son) who also hit some great numbers. 7-04-08 Bench-(bwt 326.2) Today I had the pleasure of Benching with Ron Bench and the crew from Manassas. With it being a Holiday, I jumped at the chance to get a good bench workout in be the Raw Nationals. With having 6 guys benching it tends to bring out the best in all of us.
