Even with a few injuries a long the way, I have been able to improve my openers from the Arnold Classic. Now, its time to rest up for the contest. I will be hitting the gym once or twice between now and next Friday to stretch out and walk on the treadmill .

7-27-08 2008 Raw Nationals
BWT. 148.5
Squats 584x1 good lift 622x1 good lift 639x0 This would of been a new PR but I lost focus just before I got to the bottom. So, with the help of the spotters we came back up with it.
I had plan on opening at 600 but the tempt in the lifting area was between 86 and 90. I just wanted to get the first one in.....
Bench 385x1 good lift 413x1 good lift 418x1 good lift
Deadlift 684x1 good lift 711x1 good lift 716x0 I gave it a ride but came up a little shot at the top.
I took first place in the SHW M2 and received the best lifter award for Masters heavyweights. My son Jake had a great on Saturday going 9 for 9 with a 495kg total.
Then on Sunday Jake took over coaching for me with a little help from Ron between his lifts. I couldn't have done it without those two helping during the meet. I also have to say it was a pleasure lifting on the same platform with Billy Duncan on Sunday. Thanks guys.

Great job Jim and Jake! I guess that is 148.5 KG on weigh in. We have big plans for the meet next year at the Doubletree in Charlottesville.
How did the meet go with the dual platforms? What time did you guys get done yesterday?

John, Yes, it was in KG. We finished up the lifting around 7pm. The 275's and SHW were done on one platform. On Friday and Saturday two platform were being used.

Thanks, it has been a good run with very few road blocks and injuries. I will be returning to the Arnold in 2009, it will be my next contest at this point. Jim What a awesome year or so you have done! Police and Fire Worlds, Arnold Classic and Raw Nationls. WOW. Great lifting.

8-1-08 I'm just trying to get back to normal after the Raw Nationals. I don't want my weight to go up so I have to get started again. I plan on staying away from lifting for a while but all that could change with lifting withdraws. Looking to get back to lifting around the second week of Sept. and work toward the 2009 Arnold Sports Festival.

9-12-08 Bench (bwt. ? ) It was time to get I disagree off the couch with the remote and back into the gym again. I took a little over a month off to rest up. Its funny how fast you can go downhill once you stop lifting. Now the real fun is about to begin again working my way back to the top.
